Lush mountains, gorgeous beaches, warm weather, and high-quality, spirited play… could you ask for anything more?, or so said the site(check bottom). So I’ve been lured by some ultimate players I meet at Worlds to come and join the fun at the Kaimana Klassik on Honalulu(Hawaii). Flights are booked and since flyin’ across the Pacific the first time wasn’t enough, I’m going for Part II. So from the 15th to the 24th of February, I’ll be on a little side detour exploring the Hawaiian treasures of the Pacific.
Remember good Karma Willy & a good bottle of champagne
January 12, 2007 at 4:52 am | In Uncategorized | 1 CommentA small natural disaster was avoided one day after surfing along the Great Ocean Road. In the rush to get the surfboards back to the shop on time, I managed to forget my satchel(camera w/h 900photos+wallet) on the ground floor of the parking lot. Upon arrival at the local Colessupermarket, I discovered to my horror the event which had taken place. Dumping the kids off to shop for eats I speed Wahnita back to the beach for a second glance at the surf. Hope was lost and my traveler instinct told me to file one of those 1 in a million police reports. In the back of my mind I did have faith that things would pan out. Little did I know it would be all done with with an hour and a half. Turns out a lovely Austrain couple who had been hiking in the nearby area spotted the Worlds satchel and turned it in at the police station, were minutes before I had signed off on the paper work. I picked the kids up from the Coles and we took off for the camping only to find a note saying out property had been found and was at the police station. Wahinta was started again and this time easily found the way back to the station. Every penny was accounted for and with good spirits on the mind we headed down to the bottle shop. One word “Champagne“. Direct us to the lovely bottle bubbly I said to the clerk. Indeed we found a solid 80buck bottle in a fancy box and as I payed the clerk mentioned that I didn’t even drink. I just liked the fancy boxes I told him. Willy almost refused the box but its fanciness must of softened his belly. Hopefully he saved it til new years.

5 days of work, 1 afternoon at coogee beach
January 12, 2007 at 3:21 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentAfter having landed a retail type job involved with massive materialistic peoples SALE,SALE,SALE thinkings and having worked no less than 12hour shifts for 5days straight, I got a day off. So Miles and I took Wahinta and Anneke to the We are Locals beach , coogee beach that is. Parking proved a bit tricky but once we got Wahinta settled in a spot it was only short stroll to some deadly drifty waves. As we walked Miles and I proceeded in telling Anneke the proper way of holding the BodyBody to achieve the maxium cool look. All joking aside, the life saving club was out in full force, repeat after me, don’t enter the water, the rips and swells are unusually strong and swimmers are advised to stay clear of the water. They weren’t kidding, taking a small dip I managed to get tumbled around like a pinata at a hyper-active kids birthday party. At one point I even got dragged out in a swell and seemed helpless for a bit. Somehow always being happy and releived once I could breathe again. Finding the whole experience quiet revitalising, I managed to eat a larger than normal size of chips afterwards to the amazement of both Miles and Anneke.

Musical Chairs gone wrong or naked?
January 10, 2007 at 3:15 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentWell, Well,Well Miles is still sleeping from the nites festivites but some how I got involved in musical chairs at the beginning of the evening. Not knowing that it involved a bit of nakedness. Musical chairs with a twist as the cracked out presentator called it. Having only handed out free beers in the 9-10 rush prior to the
event my reflexes were tip top. I managed to make it to the last 4 having to cover the family jewels with a presented Batman mask. The tinyest bum in the game managed to knock me out and Naked Batman was sent back to his cave. All in good spirits I was asked for the rest of the evening if I wasn’t naked earlier. Some of the ladies even requesting a more naked view well after the games were over.
