Had the fortunate experience of being able to work at a crap fashion sale, with intro into a free musical festival. Future Music was in itself, wacky and awesome in two words. The sunny start turned into a drizzy drizzel rain and managed to get every cooled off but the music was loud and beaty so no stopping the large(10,000)crowd of dancing till the rain stopped.
Two acts which I managed to see live in between my runs to the WC were The EGG & Midnight Juggernauts. Really rockin’ both acts were, goose bumps the whole works. They were on a smaller stage , but it took me back to when I saw Muse at the Vans Tour in New York on a mini stage before they got huge in the states.
The Egg had really sweet guitar sections where the whole piece came together. This added with the newly added electro beats and pulses, melted the crowd as they danced the beer out of their glasses.
By chance my good friend Jim from New York sent me a YouTube link to a guitar solo he played at home. Music has this strange ability to cross the planet and break all ideas of what you had of it in the first place.
Sydney and its afterhours protocol.
March 19, 2007 at 4:08 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentAs far as learning the ropes of the Sydney nitelife, we’ve learned so many things since our december 29th arrival. Just a top-ten of sorts to give an idea of how things can turn and spill on the floor.
1. Bring balloons, you’ll make instant friends.
2. Get those digits before she goes to the bathroom.
3. If your with the lads, call “mine’s” upon sighting’s.
4. If free beer is involved, have a runner and keep clear of idiots.
5. If you can say it and want to, just get it out, you’ll feel better in the morning.
6. When dealing with a new-local, take no prisoners and enjoy the laughs.
7. It is always better to confuse then tell the truth rigth away.
8. If in Kings Cross, remember she could be someone’s auntie but she still wants a kiss.
9. The long walk home can provide an excellent time to recap and plan your next escapade.
10. As far as fishing is concerned: if there not biting, use a bigger hook. protocol
Ladies and Gents, BAREFOOT nabs regionals prize.

Your 2007 Eastern Regionals Champs . . .
This pass weekend the Sydney syndicate Barefoot team was down in Canberra snapping up victories on the road to their Nationals title. A 3 hour drive down to the Nation’s capital proved quiet fun, especially when your in a classic Saab 900 with 3 Canadians. After we got nabbed for speeding (127km in the 110km zone) we meet up with some of the boyz at the Motel and had drinks at the local bare-feet allowed establishment, although Nick did have to put on a old staff shirt cause his cut off sleeves would of been too much for the locals. Stories were traded but the clock was kept in sight to make sure of a good nite’s rest. Watching & trying to understand the complexities of Aussie Footy on the telly we hit the sack early to be fresh in the morning. A short drive in the morning got us pumped as Sam got us into the groove with some Tiesto and Beastie Boys. 1st up was the Hills Ultimate team, who prove a bit on the sleepy side as the score read 14-0 still early in the morning. One opponent asked if we could maybe just give em one, but the Barefoot defense was a bit sharp that day to just give points away.
